A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g. la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
1. (botany)
a. Virginia stock
"Es una mahonesa, ¿no?", dijo la mujer tras oler la planta."It's a Virginia stock, right?" said the woman after smelling the plant.
2. (culinary)
a. mayonnaise
Tenemos mahonesa, mostaza y ketchup.We have mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup.
b. mayo
A word or phrase that is commonly used in conversational speech (e.g. skinny, grandma).
Eres la única persona que conozco que le pone mahonesa al perrito caliente.You're the only person I know that puts mayo on their hot dog.
