One characteristic of language is that correct grammar, spelling and punctuation could still produce a phrase that would never be used-if even understood-by a native speaker. Unfortunately, computer translations are the best evidence of this.

No voy a estar aquí por una semana, sin embargo. Me voy de un viaje sin wi-fi.

I will not be here for a week, however. I going on a trip without wi-fi.

Kiol:

Didn't I shove a stick into a hornets nest'? I think I got you and I off on the wrong foot.

First, please do a complete review of Moe's "My Page" here on SpanishDict. Read everything including the Bio info at the bottom of the page. You'll find it here:

http://my.spanishdict.com/forum/member/50521/

I'm a little bit old, but I hope I'm not "crusty". I always assume the best of intentions for people and I think I let my surprise about your Post interfere with replying to you in a clearly co-operative way. It is unusual in the extreme for Members here to "diss" each other and I hope you did not think I was doing that to you.

My earlier entry here on this Post ended with a couple of questions. That was because I found your entry too difficult to understand for someone so new to the site. My questions were sincere. I think you answered my questions when you said "I just wanted other people's opinion on what they like to do." Now I think I understand.

As you take the opportunity to look at the entries in the Forum, you will see lots of suggestions for, call them, extracurricular activities you can engage in. One that comes to mind is this suggestion made by Heidita a few days (or was it weeks) ago:

http://cvc.cervantes.es/aula/lecturas/

Click on the 'inicial?

This is a "Graded Reading" site where you can read and progress from the easier to the higher level Spanish.

They are lots of other "diamonds" like this buried inside other earlier posts. So, one of the things you can do is go "mining" to try to find these nuggets.

As between you and me, I'm sorry our initial exchange looks so much like a misstep. Can't we try again please.

Lo siento,
Moe
