But back then it was mainly a Spanish-English dictionary. I'm not sure when we added the Ning side of things (profiles, forum, chat, etc.) since I only became a part of the team last May. But I am happy to wish everyone a happy holiday and very happy New Year as I celebrate my first Christmas with SpanishDict. I celebrated by getting myself a "corporate" mug

I know this is an old thread, but this is my first full year here. I must say, it has been one of the best little surprises of 2009. I had just left Mexico with a million questions and was planning a trip to the Dominican Republic and was looking for a little help. What began as a brief dictionary inquiry turned into a place where I have met many nice people. I have learned so much more than I ever expected. Words can not express how much this site has helped me.
I have been extremely busy for the past few weeks and have not spent as much time learning here as I would like. 
But I plan to dive back into my studies full force after the new year.
I'm looking forward to continued learning with my friends here. I also look forward to meeting the many new people who will "happen upon" this site in their quest to learn Spanish.

Well Paralee, Christopher joined the new web site on 07 December 2007 so I would imagine it was around that date that it was instigated.
