I am having trouble translating some sentences from English to Spanish. Maybe somebody can give me a hand. Thanks in advance to all for your support!!
" Soon, only her sheer barrier of her shift was between his fingers and her shoulders"
"Pronto, sólo su barrera completa de su cambio estuvo entre los dedos y los hombros"
Eso es cómo nosotros lo decimos aquí en México.
This is mine:
"En un instante sólo quedó la ténue barrera de su ropa interior entre los dedos de él y los hombros de ella".
Could you help me with this one and I promise it will be the very last!!
" In her billowing, pristine night smock, she had turned from the rafting to find Colin on the veranda, too, his mouth forming an elusive smile"
Muchas gracias!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Que Dios le bendiga.
I will check this out, for sure. Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
I don't think that's quite right. You haven't translated sheer or shift. Shift is defined as:
a. A loosely fitting dress that hangs straight from the shoulder; a chemise.
b. A woman's undergarment; a slip or chemise.
I think b. makes more sense here, since the implication is that the man removed some of the woman's clothing, until only the slip was left between her skin and his fingers.
Also, the English sounds strange to me, with the double "her." It should be "Soon, only the sheer barrier of her shift was between his fingers and her shoulders."
Here's my attempt.
Muy pronto sólo el fino impedimento de su combinación quedaba entre los dedos de él y los hombros de ella.
Here's my effort
Dentro de poco solo el impedimento del vistido era entre los dedos de el y los hombros de ella. (cannot do accents on this portable computer)
