What is the celebration called when a hispanic girl truns 15?
How do you spell it'
Quinceañeras (the parties, not the girls) are so popular here in California that most Anglos know the word, too. Shops sell special goods and services for them.
En serio'? Entonces después de todo ha tenido razón James.
Mira, como definición no viene eso, pero ya se sabe:
James, a quinceañera is simply a girl who is 15 years old. Not the celebration.
I thought you might mean "la puesta de largo" which is a celebration , here in Spain, I think, only celebrated in old fashioned communities, when a girl turns 15 and from that moment on can put on long dresses.
Look at this nice video.
Los alumnos de 2º de bachillerato, se despiden del colegio con este emotivo baile.
In Argentina "quinceañera" is the girl who turns 15 and the celebration is called "La fiesta de 15"
