como duermo = how do i sleep (duermo es first person singular in the present "yo duermo")
como puedo dormir = how can i sleep
can i ask what is the difference between como duermo and como puedo dormir?
wad does duermo mean? i tried searching for it but cant find it.
thanks to all your replies.
The most accurate translaton would be "Cómo duermo sin ver tu sonrisa'"
How can I sleep? = Cómo puedo dormir?
do means "hacer" but when in a question with another verb, it can't be translated because it's an auxiliar verb that it's not used in spanish. Do you understand? = "Entiendes'" ---|- Do you work? = "Trabajas'"
Here's a great example of that:
What do you do? = "Qué haces'" the first DO isn't translated, but the second one (the verb) is.
Hope i hadn't confuse you.
Como puedo dormir sin ver esa sonrisa tuya?
I'm not sure but that's pretty close.
let me give you some examples
amor a primera vista = love at first sight
the verd ver means see while mirar means look
hago dano = do damage
hago lo mas posible = i do what's best/posible
the verd hacer is used when you want to say do something
the verb poder means can so the phrase would be how can/could i sleep without.....
i hope this makes sense to you. I am greek so both english and spanish are foreign lanquages for mi. Also,my spelling in english is not that good so if am wrong please correct me.
how do you decide when to use vista and mirar or como hago and como puedo'
Hi there!
My spanish isn't that great but i would say:
como pueda dormir sin mirar a tu sonrisa
