Hello, and welcome to the forum, Unica1. I found a set of pictures on Flickr that is comprised entirely of pictures of the Puerto Rican countryside in the fifties. It's a bit before your time period, but I thought it might be useful to you. You don't need a Flickr account or anything to view them. Here it is. It looks pretty much like your average countryside.
