My question is about translating Spanish medical note - an ecograph - a sort of sonogram of the eye. I'm trying to translate a eye exam chart note for someone who is nearly blind.

Can anyone help with this translation, especially Spanish word: fáquico?

"OD es fáquico, condensaciones vitreas moderadas de baja densidad. Retina totalmente desprendida en forma de embudo abierto. Coroides aplicadas, y la excavación del nervio óptico no es valorable."

Right eye is artificial (maybe they are referring to a lens implant since the rest of the description seems to refer to the right eye (OD))There are moderate low density condensations in the vitreous (jelly filling the eye) Retina totally detached in the form of an open funnel.Choroid applied ( a layer of the interior eyeball)Excavation of the optic nerve is not worthwhile.

It sounds like a tough situation that your friend should have explained by the opthalmologist if they did not understand the implications.
