No Email for 'Word of the Day' or account verification

This is an awesome site! I am having one problem. I have submitted my email address several times and it says that the verification has been sent. I have not received anything in my email account (I checked the spam folder). I signed up for the 'Word of the Day' but have not received anything. If I try to sign up again, it says that my address has already been submitted.

I had this problem when using Hotmail

I started using Gmail for SpanishDict and it works fine except that it doesn't seem to know how to do translations.

In my profile, I have been looking for 'Edit Your Profile' on the left for some time (to verify the email address), and cannot find it. I see the following on the left:

the Avatar,

Icons,

Joined,

Last seen,

Birthday,

Gender,

Badges,

A Verify Your Account Link (clicking on this goes to the page where you either submit your verification code or a link to resend the verification email. If that link is followed and the email address typed in, it says a verification code has been successfully sent but no email ever arrives). Nothing after that.

A stretch. It occurs to me that I once had a problem with an email address because I had performed a cut and paste and ended up entering the email address with a trailing space. I did not cut and paste the address this time but I wonder if something like that might have happened.

Anyway, I am able to do the lessons so I guess I do not need to verify the account.

Go to "edit my profile" and remove the tick from "Send me the free word of the day email" which is below your avatar.
