As in Spanish pronunciation it's different when you use ñ or n. I agree with Goyo as for English spelling.

Technically, ñ is a different letter of the alphabet than n. We don't have an ñ in English.

That being said, it's functioning as the letter n in Danielle. For English speakers, that ~ symbol is just a superfluous mark.
