Would you use the gerund of "viajar" if you wanted to say "traveling" as a noun?

Iwant to use "traveling" as a noun but I want to know if I would use "viajando"

Leer es divertido. = Reading is fun.

Viajar es divertido. = Traveling is fun.

You would just use the infinitive form to get the English gerund as a noun. The gerund form is only used when it's the verb -ing in English.

Viajando por la cuidad, vi muchas cosas. - Traveling through the city, I saw many things.
