la indicates that it is a female that you have not seen in two years.
"I have not seen her in two years"

in "No la he visto a ella... " (which is I haven't seen her for two years) Why do you use the (la) here? And don't the (a) (ella) already say she or female? why do we have to repeat it here? - Butterbean, FEB 17, 2010
