scene 49 escena ***************************************************

Getting drunk is also part of the style and there is one way to do it;

it is to drink until one is completely totally blind out of one’s mind.

"Drink today" they say "there may never be a tomorrow" cool sayings

they say like "drink right through to tomorrow and the day after that"

"drink drink it all up out of a bottomless cup...." They were alive;

their livers were still pink and in good shape - they had a good time.

Hicieron un gran show de su borrachera!

no como los pobrecitos viejos borrachos.

They made a great show of their drunkenness!

not like the pitiable drunkenness of old men.

Aún cuando salió muy fuera de control, mantenía atención en su imagen;

Even when he went way beyond control he kept an eye on his cool image;

his mind was agile enough to convincingly mimic the wild drunken icon.

El era todo un maestro en mantener viva la sensacion de peligro;

He was the master of keeping every moment alive with a sense of danger

if life itself were not at stake he acted as - what does it matter?

Arturo buscaba el peligro; la incertidumbre, y la confrontación;

Arturo looked for danger; for uncertainty and for confrontation;

his realm is not that of the ordinary, his was a more vivid ground.

Debido a que siempre aspiraba a jugar por todo está retando el díablo;

By always seeking to play for high stakes he is challenging the devil;

"come and get me you son of a ****", it is almost as if he is saying.

Getting drunk is also part of the style and there is one way to do it; it is to drink until one is completely totally blind out of one’s mind. “Bebe hoy” -dicen- “quizás no haya mañana”. Repiten dichos como “Bebe hasta mañana y luego hasta pasado mañana” "Drink today" they say "there may never be a tomorrow" cool sayings they say like "drink right through to tomorrow and the day after that" “Tómatela hasta el fondo blanco de la copa...” Estaban vivos. "drink drink it all up out of a bottomless cup...." They were alive; their livers were still pink and in good shape - they had a good time. They made a great show of their drunkenness! not like the pitiable drunkenness of old men. Even when he went way beyond control he kept an eye on his cool image; his mind was agile enough to convincingly mimic the wild drunken icon. Él era todo un maestro en mantener viva la sensación de peligro; Si su vida no estaba en peligro, actuaba con al actitud de ¨¿cuál es el problema?¨ He was the master of keeping every moment alive with a sense of danger if life itself were not at stake he acted as - what does it matter?
