Hi Robert, Welcome! Reading newspapers is a great way to improve your language knowledge. However, it may be hard to get sensible translations for long sentences (translators are just not that advanced yet, apparently).

Instead, you might want to try this: pick articles that you have some knowledge of already, and try to build up the basic vocabulary that you need. For example, during the Obama-McCain election, I found articles every few days, and I already knew approximately what they would say, and they used similar vocabulary. If you do this, you can really pick up a lot.

Also, feel free to post sentences that really confuse you on the forum and we'll help you figure them out.

Good luck and have fun!

Hi Robert, welcome to SpanishDict smile

You can find thousands of opportunities to learn Spanish here. Start from our great language course and flashcards, you'll find the translation tool, the dictionary and conjugation tool most useful. There are many helpful people on this forum, so if you have any questions, try looking for similar threads or open a new one and feel free to ask. We have a new "word of the day" and "picture of the day" every day, you can contribute by giving your own examples, or just read other people's answers. Try everything out, but I have to warn you: coming here can become your addiction pretty soon! wink
