Yes, chivas, means female goats. The team is actually called "The Young Boys of Guadalajera" (Los muchachos jóvenes de Guadalajera) and is historically, I believe, the most successful team in Mexico. The shirt is great: red and white stripes. I know this because I'm married to one of the world's greatest soccer fans.
