question about error messages when posting

What does it mean when I get a pink message that says "there was an error in your posting"? Does it mean there was a server glitch, or is it actually checking my spelling or something else I need to fix?

Thanks!

Well, it's certainly not automatic spell-checking. One would be hard pressed to find a thread that did not contain some spelling errors. Besides, since posts can be in English/Spanish/a mixture, there's no way one could implement effective. spell- checking

Some members have reported getting an error message (I think they were accused of "spam") when attempting to write one/more words entirely in uppercase.

It has also been suggested that there is some sort of obscenity filtering done by the host software (though I have no idea what the "error" message might have been).

If the message was simply "there was an error in your posting" (with no additional information), then it probably meant that the attempt to write your posting to the database was unsuccessful which could result from server/database overload or any of a number of software glitches.

It usually tells you what it is that you did wrong. Make sure you enter all the required information when posting.
