please give me the correct word for the sentence. The first blank should be in preterite form and the second blank should be in imperfect form.

Hi Elenamartine! I won't give you an answer, but I'll give you a hint... both blanks are in the imperfect form.
Another hint: there is a conjugation feature on this site.
