Can I use the word "coordinador" for chairperson in Spanish?

I don't want to use the word "Presidente" in spanish. Can I use Coordinador for Chairman/Chairperson?

Sounds like a reasonable option to "presidente", if you want to avoid using that. "Coordinador/coordinadora" would certainly communicate your point.
