I need help understanding a hispanic soccer term.

I am trying to figure out what my son's hispanic soccer coach is saying when they are playing. It sounds like puerto but it is not puerto and it means to pass the ball or work the ball diagonally across the field. I asked one of the hispanic parents who said the word is not puerto and is spelled with an "ab" or "bl" or "abl" from what I could understand. Please help! Thanks!

Spelled where? I mean which part of the word?

This is a very unclear question.

Can you describe what it sounds like? May be puerta, which means kicking the ball into the goal.
