how do you tell someone you have missed them in spanish?

I have not seen my Spanish friend in quite a while, and I want him to know that I have missed him very much.

Te he extrañado. = I have missed you.

Te extraño. = I miss you.

Then following those words, you can add "mucho" for 'a lot' or "muchisimo" or "un chingo" for 'so much'.

Un chingo is more like slang and I'm not sure how regional it is.
