I read this expression recently, and would really like to know what it means, exactly.
I know that it is something like, "if I tell you the mule is black it is because I bring the hairs in hand." But I'm thinking this must be some sort of proverb or have a less literal meaning that will make more sense. Is this like saying, "I can show you better than I can tell you," or that if I tell you somethingis so, it's because I can prove it?
Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, this is exactly the case, you have answered your own question.
We also say this funny sentence:
blanco y en botella = leche
Like , listen, there is no prove necessary, it is obvious.
