| I love Spanish and the culture, geography, and history that has been it's soil since the Roman Empire. Of course, a language is nothing without people. So my experiences working with Spanish and Latin American people in many different contexts both in the USA and Spanish-speaking countries has formed me as a person and culturally as a Spanish-speaker. I remain "American" but now in a much broader sense. After my two years doing post graduate work in philosophy in Chile I realized that there is no "going home to USA" because my time there transormed me into a new person, a sort of hybrid. | |
