| I'm married and live in Indiana. I practice Buddhism. They say "you are as young as you feel", well, I don't feel so young anymore! My one and only son just made me a grandma, too! I have two dogs, both Shih Tzu They are my little buddies and the sunshine in my world! That's them (as puppies) in my avatar picture. They take up a good share of my time....... Learning another language was on my 'bucket list". Plus, I recently learned of a study that says that learning a second language is good for our brains and may stave off the effects of Alzheimer's disease (which runs in my family)..... I chose Spanish because I like the way it sounds, when I hear someone speak it. And also, there seems to be a lot of words that are very similar between English and Spanish. But more importantly, there is an increasing latino population in my neck of the woods. I have a few customers that are Spanish speaking (only). I would love to be able to converse with them....... My nickname was given to me by my grandfather when I was a little girl. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I believe I've discovered the origins of the nickname... There is a funny children's song called "The Gillygaloo Bird". | |
