| It is very difficult to classify my proficiency as I do better in some areas than in others. I've spent a bit of time in Spain over the past few years and, while this has been a huge boost for my Spanish, I really want to improve my accuracy and fluency. Overall, it's probably best to opt for "Intermediate", for the moment. I've always been interested in language and languages. Apart from learning on my own, or spending time in other countries, I have spent quite a large portion of my life engaged in formal language learning situations, school, university, post-graduate., etc.: 12 years of English, plus Teaching English as a Second or Other Language, 12 years of Irish (Gaeilge), 4 years of Latin, 11 years of French (trained to translator level), 4 years of Spanish, 5 years of Italian, oh, and 1 year of German, though it was never a language that appealed to me. | |
