Soy maestro. Es un gozo ver cómo brilla el rostro de uno cuando por fin entiende un concepto difícil. Me encanta observar cómo mejora la vida de una persona cuando pone en práctica lo aprendido. Además soy estudiante. Creo que un buen maestro de verdad debe tener una insaciable sed de conocimiento y entendimiento. El desear aprender implica reconocer que uno no sabe todo, lo cual exige humildad. Por lo tanto, a mi parecer, es esencial que un buen maestro sea humilde. ¡Ojalá que la humildad no me escapara de las manos siempre que está a mi alcance!

I am a teacher. It is a joy to see someone’s face light up when they finally understand a difficult concept. I love to see a person improve their life by applying what they have learned. I am also a student. I believe that a truly good teacher must thirst for knowledge and understanding. To want to learn implies acknowledging that one does not know everything. That acknowledgment requires humility. Therefore in my view, it is essential that a good teacher be humble. If only humility wouldn’t slip from my fingers every time it seems within my reach!
