| I'm originally from NV. I lived in Nicaragua for two years. I am married with 5 children to whom I only speak in Spanish. At first it was pretty easy as they weren't very conversational, but as they have grown they have become more and more inquisitive demanding more and more of my Spanish. Like many bilingual homes my school age children do not speak Spanish, but understand it fine. My younger kids are still learning to talk so I'm hoping with them I can focus more on speaking the language. I appreciate this webpage and its forum as it has been very helpful to me.
