SENATE Es la cámara alta del Congreso estadounidense. Junto con la Cámara de Representantes forma el brazo legislativo del gobierno federal. El Senate está compuesto por 100 senadores, dos por cada estado independientemente de su población, que son elegidos por un periodo de seis años. En lugar de convocar elecciones para toda la cámara a la vez, éstas se convocan cada dos años para un tercio de la cámara exclusivamente.
