HOLIDAYS En el Reino Unido las celebraciones religiosas no suelen ser día festivo a nivel nacional, a excepción del Viernes Santo y del día de Navidad. Otros tres días de fiesta coinciden con estas fechas: “Easter Monday” (lunes de Pascua), “Boxing Day” (26 de diciembre) y “New Year's Day” (1 de enero). Hay dos fiestas más en mayo: “May Day” (primer lunes) y “Spring Bank Holiday” (último lunes), y otra en agosto: “Summer Bank Holiday” (último lunes de agosto). Escocia e Irlanda del Norte tienen algunas fiestas distintas.En Estados Unidos cada estado tiene sus propios días festivos, además de las fiestas nacionales. Estas son “Christmas Day”, “New Year's Day”, “Labor Day” (primer lunes de septiembre), “Columbus Day” (segundo lunes de octubre) y “Thanksgiving” (cuarto jueves de noviembre). En otras dos se commemoran aniversarios de líderes importantes: “Martin Luther King Day” (tercer lunes de enero) y “Presidents' Day” (tercer lunes de febrero, aniversario de los presidentes Lincoln y Washington).
