DIPUTACIÓN In Spain, there is an administrative body in most provinces called the diputación. It is part of the local government structure and nowadays has limited powers mostly confined to co-ordinating services provided by local councils and representing the interests of the province. The members and president of the diputación are elected by the members of the autonomous parliaments.
