San Isidro
Saint Isidore
San Isidro is the patron saint of Madrid, and gives his name to the week-long festivities which take place round 15 May. Originally an 18th-century trade fair, the San Isidro celebrations now include music, dance, a famous romería, theatre and bullfighting. The isidrada is in fact one of the most important dates in the bullfighting calendar.
