How do I sign up?
To sign up for SpanishDict, simply click "Signup" in the top right corner of our homepage, enter your desired username and password along with your e-mail address, and that's it! You are now on your way to a free Spanish education.

To meet other SpanishDict members, you can talk to them in our "Chat" section, or browse their profiles in our "Users" section.

The best place for support is to ask other members of SpanishDict for help by posting a question in the Website Questions and Feedback category of the "Answers" section.

What is the significance of my "Points Scoreboard"?
Learning Points are simply for your convenience, so that you may keep track of your progress through the SpanishDict courses. You receive certain amounts of points for completing writing exercises, watching Learning Videos, and more. For more details, please see our Achievements page.

How do I progress through lesson flashcards?
To see the Spanish translation for the term, click "Show" or the right arrow key. To go to the next flashcard, click the right arrow after seeing the translation, or click the right-pointing hand icon that appears when you move your mouse over the flashcard.

How do I progress through lesson flashcards?
To get the Spanish translation for the term, click "Show" or the right arrow key. To get to the next flashcard, click the right arrow key after seeing the translation, or click the right-pointing hand icon that appears when you move your mouse over the flashcard.

What kinds of questions or answers am I allowed to post?
The "Answers" section is a place where you can ask fellow SpanishDict members Spanish-related questions. (Please visit this post for detailed Rules and Guidelines.) Questions may not be obscene, promotional, or otherwise inappropriate. Violating this guideline may result in the termination of your account. Please try to help our site improve by remaining on topic in the Answers section.

How does the voting system work?
If you have gained enough Reputation to have the privilege of voting on the helpfulness of a question or answer. You may do this by clicking the thumbs-up icon underneath that answer's current score. Please use your voting privileges generously but wisely. Voting an answer up will make it more accessible to others. For more on Reputation, please see our Achievements page.

Translation
How do I use the Translation page?
Click on the Translation box on the left side of the homepage, or its tab at the top of your screen. Type in a Spanish or English phrase and click either, "English to Spanish" or "Spanish to English". Three translations from different services should all result on one page, allowing you to compare potential translations.

All 3 translations are different. How do I know which one is correct?
Unfortunately, computer translators aren't perfect. That's why SpanishDict provides you with 3 different translations for cross-referencing. If you are not satisfied with these translations, or you are unsure which one is accurate, try our Professional Translation or ask our knowledgeable user base about it in the Answers section.

Dictionary & Conjugation
How do I use the Dictionary?
Click on the Dictionary search bar on the left side of the homepage, or the Dictionary tab or search bar at the top of your screen if you're away from our homepage. Type in your word (in English or Spanish) and press enter or click "translate".

There is more than one translation for some words. How do I know which is correct?
For most words in our dictionary, we have one "Quick Definition" displayed at the top of the page with audio play. However, if you have read through our detailed definitions and are still unsure which makes sense in your context, try asking a question in our Answers section.

How can I be sure how to pronounce these translated words?
For pronunciation, we offer audio play for any quick definition. You can hear this by clicking the speaker icon next to the word.

What do I do if a word I need to define is not listed?
If you have attempted using our Dictionary and Translation and still cannot find a proper definition, you may ask a question in our Answers section.

I want to look at a member's profile, but it's locked; what's going on?
Most likely, you are not yet a member. Just sign up and you will be all set!

How can I find different users on the site?
If you are in the "Users" section, you may browse members by their reputation, their badge count, their learning points, how recently they've joined, or alphabetically by username. Or, if you want to contact one user in particular, you may directly search for him or her.
