help with sound on website

Question

I am new to Spanishdict and cannot hear anything on the listen part of flashcards. Does anyone know if there is a trick to getting this to work? The sound is on 'on' my computer and, yes, my speakers are on, too! ; )

This question would be better placed in the "Website Questions and Feedback" forum, where you'll notice there are several like that. It seems there have been some recent problems with the sound, but that, for the most part, they had been resolved. A few members are still having some difficulties.

You should get some more feedback on your question by tomorrow.

They have been having a lot of sporadic audio problems on this site lately (especially with the Speak portion of the practice lessons.)
I just went to Learn Spanish Lesson 4.6 and tried the Listen portion. The audio was working fine, except that I got the woman reading English prompts rather than the man reading Spanish prompts.

Do you hear the audio on the Video portion of the lesson? They seem to be unrelated to each other. Usually one will work even if the other won't, but it will tell you if it's your equipment or theirs.

I too have sporadic problems with the audio on the flashcards.
Most of the flashcards sound is fine but there will be 4 or 5 no sound

hola! I am having the same problem with the sound and I can not get any futher I cant get the points so I am unable to move on has been that way for three days I get a few words spoken but not enough for the points I need I will be watching for someone that might reply to help us in this situtation Thanks everyone!

Welcome, Linda. I am sorry you are having this problem

In the Website Questions and Feedback forum there are several threads dealing with this problem. The Administrators have asked people to give specific information about where the problem is occuring, such as which flashcards, which lesson, what part, etc. That way they can address the specific problem, because when they spot check (they can't just go listen to everything on the whole site) they don't find any problems.

I think it will be fixed soon. Just be patient and keep practicing the things you have learned. This friendly forum is also a good place to practice and get questions answered.

I have just checked the audio for all flashcards in Learn Spanish 4.
They work fine.
It will take a while for me to check Learn Spanish 1 2 and 3.
I will report back when I have done it.

1.1 OK
1.2 the following audios are missing:
ÿl es alto
ÿl es fuerte
ÿl es gordo
ÿl es atlétcio
ÿl es artístico
ÿl es impaciente
ÿl es mayor
ÿl es perezoso
1.3 OK except the picture for "la sopa" is missing
1.4 OK
1.5 OK
1.6 OK

1.14 OK except the picture for "la primavera" is missing and there is no "next lesson" link.

All flashcard audios are ok.
2.1 there is no picture for "la vendadora"
AND there are no "next lesson" links on any lesson, only "previous lesson" links.

I will check 3.1 and report back.

All flash card audios are OK.
BUT none of the lessons have a "Next Lesson" Link.
I think the "Next Lesson" Link should be on all lessons because it is useful.

You are doing a lot of work for the benefit of the site, Ian. I, for one, appreciate what you are doing, even though I haven't used/don't plan to use the lessons/flashcards. A better SpanishDict.com benefits us all.
