Good evening, Eric. I hope your first night of Vacation Bible School went well.

"Bienvenido/-a" is an adjective in this sentence, and so it needs to match/agree with the noun it refers to (in this case, the person) in gender (male/female) and number (singular/plural). When you are talking to a female, it is "bienvenida." To a group of females, it would be "bienvenidas." To a mixed group or a group of males, do you want to guess what it is'? I'm sure you already know.
