qfreed, you are right. I am using IE and it is an annoyance but it doesn't show yp in Firefox.
It shows in my FireFox but never before today. It's clearly in the HTML (you can see the reference in the source. As Quentin suggested, it's the "expanded" version that should pop-up if you click on the (small and unobjectionable) bookmarks bar. This new one is a second copy of the same thing that appears already expanded and placed so that you can't dismiss/close the pop-up window.
There's an applet/widget that's being loaded dynamically. (type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/custom/techcrunch/addthis_widget.js") This means that if the people at s7.addthis.com modify their code (as they appear to have done recently) and introduced a bug (as they appear to have done), the "Dictionary" page will begin to misbehave even though the HTML over which SpanishDict has direct control has not been changed. One can only hope that the users of the sites (such as ours) that make use of addthis.com's functionality will complain (indirectly) and steps will be taken to fix the bug.
Problem is , Chris is going to be away for some time. I hope he will be back soon to fix this. I have already reported it. I will include the thread.
