Very Good...not to discourage you, but after the age of 11 it is very unlikely that a person will be able to speak a foreign language without an accent ( I didn't say it's impossible ). My point is that as long as you are fluent and have good command of the language that's all that really matters. Most people are able to minimize their accents with a lot of practice and time. It's not the end of the world. The person in the video is doing very well.
I have moved this thread too this category to give you the chance to get some people comment on your accent . I think it is a very good idea.
Megan, why not upload an avatar so that we can identify you with it? ![]()
Not bad at all!. Your most notable (and consistent) mistake is to use a "trilled R" where it should be a "single tap" R (for example in "praticar" and "aprender"). You also mispronounce "accento" (The sounds you use are OK but they are the wrong sounds for that word). Try finding "accento" in the dictionary here and then click on the loudspeaker icon to hear the pronunciation.
Sounds fluent and very clear for the most part, so don't worry much about your pronunciation. Sometimes, like in "muy importante", sound perfect to me. The word "acento" in Spanish has only one C, not two like in English. Your R in "aprendeR", "compRende", "paRa", "heRmana", "cReo" is too hard (like a RR); it should be softer.
