Any ideas on translating the phrase articulos de broma? Context is:

se aprobaban las normas de seguridad de los jugetes, utiles de uso infantil y articulos de broma.

Also having trouble with "utiles de uso infantil".

It doesn't have to agree when it is connected by "de". In this case, "de broma" is the correct expression.

I am sure you are correct; but -- "bromas" would dome flying out of my mouth.

One trick I often use to find what words or terms mean is to search on Google Images. I just did that with "artículos de broma" (note the accent), and it was very illuminating. I saw lots of photos of Halloween items (masks, etc.), sex toys, gag gifts, action figures, and so forth. Based on this, I think the best translation of this Spanish would be "novelty items." It's not exact, but close.

When I did the same search for the second term, I found something extremely close to the original source document. I think this might be translated by "children's supplies (or products)." This seems to apply to the safety of things like teething rings.
