In Spanish the ending needs to be changed to feminine.

Manuel trabaja como mecánico.
Manuela trabaja como mecánica.

Oh that's rights. Thank you. I missed that detail. You know what I didn't realize that Manuela was a name. I'm thinking of the title or phrase "Manuel Labor". haha.
