I really enjoy translating the spanish songs that I like to english for one because I like to know exactly what they are talking about and for two because it really helps me remember words and phrases. However a lot of the songs do not translate word for word and I understand that but I have a particular tile that is just not translating right at all. It would be great if someone could help me. It is "Que Me Alcance La Vida." I'm not really sure what the word Alcance means. I know what the dictionary says but is that the only meaning of this word? Please someone help me.

What word did you look up? "alcance" here is the subjunctive of alcanzar. A google search for the lyrics yields this:

De lo mucho que me das
Le pido a Dios que me alcance la vida
Para decirte todo lo que siento gracias a tu amor

My attempt: . . . I ask God to lend me life to tell you . . .

I basically agree with Natasha, but I think the idea is more that of reaching a certain age.

"I ask God to let me live long enough to tell you everything that I feel thanks to your love."
