Fiesta de guardar es un término religioso. Son las fiestas, no siendo domingo, en las que hay que ir a misa.

En este caso, Sabina dice que él se queda en la cama aunque no sea solo el domingo.

I thought the religious term was días de guardar.
Is this correct? El viernes es un dia de guardar porque no se come pescado.'am just curios.

Gracias, Heidita, por tus explicaciónes y correcciónes. Eso es preciasamente lo que he buscado en este foro, porque estudio español independientemente y una cosa que siempre me falta es retroalimentación (si esta es la palabra apropiada).

Sobre 'fiestas de guardar,? sabes si este término es tan común en Sudamérica como lo es en España.

That seems to be in use, too, but the first rule of the Catholic Church is: Oír Misa entera todos los domingos y fiestas de guardar.

QS didn't ask for the English, but I believe it is Holy Days of Obligation.

If by that you mean feedback, the dictionary says reacción. However, I´m not sure if that´s the best fit to the context . . .

QS, you can't use this here, because its use is limited to electrical contexts, as far as I know. You might say "una cosa que siempre me falta es recibir comentarios y correcciones."

Which (Sp/En) is only used in electrical contexts? I've seen many magazines (in English) that speak of "feedback" from their readers (and other similar locutions).

If the Spanish only use it for elec. then I think they should reconsider their position. There's an important nuance to "feedback" that's lacking in "reaction". Namely, the use of the output to modify the behavior (or, if you prefer, the emphasis on the adaptive nature of the process). It did, of course, originate with the use of feedback in electrical circuits but when used in a more general context (as QS did) it asserts his intention to profit from the reactions of others.

The dictionary flags the Spanish usage as for electrical (only). You're saying that Spanish-speakers should change the meaning of the word in their language? I'm staying out of that one, he he!
