- is that right?
I am trying to say roughly "one day, at night, we visited the Santa María del Mar because Lonely Planet recommended seeing it". I'm particularly unsure about the second part of my spanish sentence. Can some one help, if possible?
Thanks

In this case, la is appropriate. iglesia or catedral...both are female.
- is that right? No, not really
verla.
the other night bla...bla...bla porqué Lonely Planet recomend it.
Please correct me, If 'am wrong, specially the tildes- thanks
"Santa María del Mar" is a wonderful cathedral in an area of Barcelona full of amazing restaurants and pubs. Everybody that goes to Barcelona should visit it (the church and all the rest). I highly recommend it, the atmosphere is so lively, cosmopolitan and sophisticated that you get in a few hours a shot of life and beauty.

Hi Gus
I am just curious with reference to your home page. You say your native language is "Spanish" but your "Spanish Level" is intermediate. How can this be? Surely your Spanish level would be fluent or have you made a mistake'

He estado en Barcelona varias veces...pero no he conocido esa zona.
No mistake was made. I left my the old country 48 years ago. When I was in the third year of elementary school. In the US I never worried y about Spanish because most of my friends were non Spanish speakers. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I began to speak and write in Spanish, for business reasons. It is incredible to me, how much Spanish I know even though I never studied it. Spanish words just come to me out of nowhere, it is incredible.
