ASK A QUESTION faint praise: all right
How would you express the following in Spanish? You are on vacation and your friend asks you, "How was the hotel'" You want to be polite, so you don't say, "It was not so great; the carpet was dirty, the service was terrible, etc." Instead you say, "It was all right." Thus you are being polite, but not conveying very much enthusiasm.

You could say "No estuvo mal", but you have to say it with an exaggeratedly raised tone. Otherwise, you could say "Estuvo regular" (so-so).
¿porque no ? más o menos meaning more or less.
I got a god question here, would you traslate fair to meangling ?

I have other expressions about this idea: "pasable", "podía haber estado mejor", "de aquella manera".
Muchas gracias a todos. Aquí tengo varias opciones que me gustan.
