"cocer" y "coser"

Question

Does the native Spanish speaker hear a difference in the pronunciation of these two words, "to cook" and "to sew'" I have listened carefully to the clips presented on Spanish.Dict.com and cannot hear any difference at all. The two sound like the same clip to my untrained ear.

A general question related to this discussion. I chose the category "Vocabulario y Gramática" for my entry only because there was no topic titled "Spanish Pronunciation." Are there enough other questions / discussions related to pronunciation for me to make a suggestion in the "iImprove the Website" forum to add a new category for pronunciation? I mean, would adding the category be an improvement? This is really a question for those of you who have experience with the kinds of questions people often pose.
