For the first time, I heard a Mexican lady say that her lost child was at the police station = delegación. I haven't found this in any dictionary.

Check our online dictionary (just double click on the word "delegacion")
delegación de policía -> police station (Mexican Spanish)

Yes, it is the Mexican version of the standard term, comisaría.

In Spain (and possibly in other countries): comisaría (de policía). We use "delegación" more for Government local offices; this police use seems to be a Mexican use.
