We ate, wrote and read in silence.

Question

If we we read is in the preterite form, why would we ate and we wrote not be? My translator gave me this: Comimos, escribimos y leímos adentro silencio.

All three verbs _are_ in the preterite. Don't like that "adentro" though. I think "en silencio" would be better.

There are no accents on comimos and escribimos. Is that because the accent falls naturally in these words?

The accent is on the penultimate syllable in the three words:

Co-mi-mos, es-cri-bi-mos y le-í-mos

However, because of the diphthong on the last one, if you don't write the accent, the stress would still be on the penultimate syllable, but it would be like this:

lei-mos

...and it would sound differently.

Also, and samdie said, "adentro" should ideally be used to indicate motion, and not location (for that we have "dentro"), like in "donde/adonde" and other words, but "adentro" is widely used the way the translator suggested. I personally don't suggest "adentro" here.

Yes but you stopped midstream. It was with some reluctance that I suggested a Spanish phrase (since I prefer to leave that to native speakers (the _real_ experts)).. But you neglected to suggest what you _would_ prefer.
