I know it means 'already' but can it also be used like 'yet'? That is, "I haven't been there yet."

If so, how do I use it? "No asistí ya" or "No ya asistí"'

Nothing will come between no and the conjugated verb except for object pronouns.

ya cannot be used as yet.
its meaning is closer to right now...
ya me voy. Im leaving right now.
ya llegué I have just arrived
ya lo se I already know
ya asisti i have been there
