ASK A QUESTION Lupus-Like disorders

Although lupus is defined in some sources as lupia or lobanillo, it seems to be most commonly spelled as lupus in Spanish. And perhaps because there is no short way to say -like in Spanish, I find many sites that mention síndrome lupus-like or trastorno lupus-like. One example gives two options: "síndrome similar al lupus (lupus-like)."
You sometimes amaze me, James. Are you a walking encyclopaedia, or you do research before answering? I've only heard lupus in Spanish, but then, I'm not a doctor.
In any case, I'd say "trastornos de tipo lúpico" (something I think I've heard before).
In any case, my favourite wolf is "lúpulo", hehe.

Even when I think I know the answer, I usually do some checking in an attempt to confirm my information before giving it to someone else. That way I minimize how much of a fool I make of myself here. ![]()

Well said! However, I don't recall ever seeing you making a fool of yourself.
By the way, do you like the other kind of wolf? ![]()

Do you refer to slang English (mujeriego) or possibly the Japanese "ippiki ookami (sort of "lone wolf)'

I'm afraid I don't get it. I know that lupus comes from the word for wolf. Ah, wait, I just now saw that you added something to your earlier post, about lúpulo. Why are hops called lúpulo? What is the connection to wolf?
I have only spent a couple of weeks in Spain, and therefore don't know much about the culture, but is beer very popular there? For some reason, I have the impression that wine is the beverage of choice, as in your neighbors France and Italy. No'

Sorry! The word "lúpulo" was used by the Romans because a famous writer said that a certain plant (hops) grows everywhere, like a plague that he compared to the wolves attacking the herds, because they believed that it damaged the ground. Hence the name "lúpulo" ("wolf"). Beer is consumed in enormous quantities, and more than wine, especially among younger people. Actually, we have a saying: "El vino es la teta de los viejos".
Muchsimas gracias a todos!

Jeje.
