Please help! I am trying to translate the following:
"On behalf of the Chairman, President and Managing Director of New America, we thank you for kindly accepting Oscar's invitation to attend the conference."

When I read the English, "New America" sounds like the name of a company, in which case it should not be translated to la Nueva América, which makes it sound like some country that has been newly founded or discovered. Company names are not translated.

Thank you for your help. My corrected version reads,

"En nombre del Presidente de consejo de administración, el Presidente, y el Director Ejecutivo de la Nueva America, le agradecemos que haya aceptado la invitación de Oscar, a participar en la reunión de la Nueva America."

OScar does sound strange, but I took out the rest of the name just for privacy reasons, and Nueva America is also just a partial name of an organization; it is not a company so I have left that part translated as in the original. Also, I knew I left out a couple of accents, but I do not know how to type on this board with the accent marks, etc...

Hi Heidita. Can you tell me what "la gente me persigue" means? Actually I wasn't able to find the verb form for "persigue". What's the original verb for it?

I'm glad you asked, I want to hear the answer too. I thought it meant... like... pick on, "persecute" (comes from perseguir, right'), but once when I used it that way someone said I had it wrong. So I'd like to hear what Heidita (or anyone) else has to say to clarify.

I think the closest English verb in this case might be to hound, as in "Everyone is hounding me." Naturally, she said it in jest.
