I have a question about direct object pronouns and their placement in front of or behind the verb. Is either way ok ? with commands I see it behind the verb (repitalo...repeat it) more often.... what are the rules for this ? Thanks

The rule is simple: you attach the pronouns to the verb in infinitive, "gerundio", and imperative (not the negative imperative, though). Other tenses used to have the pronouns attached... centuries ago, but not nowadays. Examples:

Quiero ponerlo'
Estoy poniéndolo'
Ponlo

' in most of these types of periphrases (fixed verbal phrases) you can also write the pronoun before it (i.e. Lo quiero poner)

Hi James; put the pronoun before the verb if it is conjugated and after the verb if is not.
