Hi, yes a hearing for granting a liquor license.

As you might understand most laws develop differently in various countries and therefore the practice of having a hearing might not be the same for the different Spanish speaking groups.

Many Spanish speaking countries do not govern the sale of alcohol as we do in the US. Consequently the terminology is different.

In short the best possible way I could think of is to elaborate on the complete act.

'Audiencia para obtener una licencia de venta de bebidas alcohólicas?

That's as best as I could come up with but maybe someone else in the forum might reply with a shorter answer.

Good luck.

That sounds like excellent advice, Louie.

Good point! We didn't understand it, because the concept doesn't even exist in our culture. I think it is a good translation.

Thanks for all of the good suggestions. Maybe a little background would help clarify my query. I work in Cleveland as a community organizer. I am working in a Puerto Rican neighborhood where the community has been there for three or four generations.
These are all very real concepts within this community and I am representing them before the city and the claimants. The community is contesting the license, so I'm assuming audiencia de licencias alcohólicas will suffice when referencing the event. Thanks for helping me refine my thinking on this. stay well.

Perhapr you are looking for the therm: Audiencia de concesión de expendio de alcohol/ petición de licencia de alcoholes.

Yes, except the community wants the license to be denied, not granted.
