Understanding native-speakers
I feel like I understand a great deal of written spanish and I can understand really well when I speak with professors (even those who are native speakers). However, it is really difficult for me to understand movies, songs, and native speakers in person because to me they speak very quickly. Is there a way I can practice this'

I know that it helps me to just keep watching movies, and listening to songs. What would really help you I bet would be to get the lyrics to a song, and listen to it as you follow along. that way you can hear what they are saying and read it at the same time, over time you will read less and less. This has allways helped me.

I agree with Paul. I watch one movie every day in Spanish audio with Spanish subtitles and it has helped a lot.
listen to spanish radio. I listen to the radio a few hours each day and it makes a huge difference. I can understand a lot.
I recommend this radio http://www.rtve.es/rne/audio/sr5w.htm
it is news radio station, so not too much music, they talk all the tome.
I have gone to youtube.com and have looked up songs (con letras) with lyrics. Just type "con letras" in the search bar.
Sometimes the songs are still too quick but I have found a few that I can keep up with and its helping me to be able to pronounce Spanish words as they should be.
They may not be your cup of of tea (you may like another style of music) I chose these because the words are fairly clear.
